A Taste For Brandy

It was about 15 years ago or so, when I was a relatively young man, that I had my first taste of brandy.
I loved it!
Even though my drink of choice at the time was beer, there was something about that spirit that just did it for me.
It tasted so nice (I must point out that I normally drink brandy with a coke or lemonade mixer.I know,I know!) that I was an instant fan.
It was a Napoleon brandy.I carried on drinking this type without giving a second thought to any other 'types' of brandy.
One day I deceided to try a different brand. Courvoisier!
I fell in love again!
How could brandy taste so good all over again? Brandy is brandy, surely?
Well, obviously not.The taste was so much different again. Courvoisier was far more expensive than the brand I had started with so it was only to be bought on special occasions.
I decided to try some Spanish brandy next and yet again it was a totally different taste.
There seemed to be no end to the different tastes from different brandies from different countries.
Today,I still only buy brandy on special occasions as the price here in the UK has skyrocketed due to Government duty levels. It remains my favourite spirit and I think always will and I'm pretty sure that if there is an alcohol free brandy out there that tastes as good as the main brands on sale, then I would definately buy it.
For me it's all about the taste.
